“West Texas View” . . . a raw and rugged view of West Texas ranch land.

Description

“West Texas View”. . . a rugged view of raw West Texas land. An original, 3-1/2″x3-1/2″ encaustic painting by La’Nelle Gambrell. This painting was created using a tiny, heated steel brush on a waxed, 1″ thick wood strata. Each color is a separate layer of wax and every layer is sealed to the previous layer with a torch flame. Only pure, filtered bees wax, damar tree resin and all natural pigments were used to create this ‘one of a kind’ painting. Comes ready to hang or will display nicely on a easel.

Encaustic art has survived for over 2000 years and is the earliest known form of painting that we know of.  Examples of encaustic art, particularly the portrait art on Egyptian mummies, are still exhibited in museums around the world. If you care to learn more about encaustic art consider searching for Fayum Mummy Encaustic art or visit my website; www.LaNelle.com.
