Jesus Wept . . . 5”x 7” on birch wood encaustic panel. Colors are beige, white, brown, grey and sepia tones with a final rubbing of gold. The photo was an original taken of a cemetery statue then wax adhered to the birch panel and enhanced by a small, heated, wire brush with pure bees wax and all natural (food grade) pigments. Several layers of encaustic wax were applied with each layer flame torched to the previous to assure adhesion. Look closely and you’ll see the single tear that runs down from Jesus’ right cheek. This was completely accidental and I did not notice the tear until much later. Comes unframed with a free easel. Comes with a free easel, the frame in the photo is for a suggestion only.
